The Safford House Museum is directly behind us and the renowned Inness paintings can be seen across the street from our house. The recently rennovated cottage was built over 100 years ago and has happily housed generations of Greek families who helped establish the Sponge Fishing industry in Tarpon Springs. Located on a large, corner lot the house offers an open floor plan with large rooms, views and plenty of space for all. There is onsite parking for up to 5 vehicles. Easy walk to Spring Bayou where you can watch Manatee swim in the 72 degree spring water. Downtown with its many antique stores and the famed Pinellas Trail are just a five minute walk. In less than 10 minutes you can walk to the Historic Sponge Docks in the Greek Village area along the Anclote River. Here you can take a river tour, have a delicious Greek dinner or lunch in one of the many, fine restaurants or just sample desserts in a cafe. The air is rich with the aromas of cooking, cries of seagulls and exotic Greek music. If you would rather not walk then take the old fashioned trolley which stops in front. It will ferry you around town all day for a nominal charge. Area beaches are about 10 minute drive as is Lake Tarpon and several state and county parks. Pick sweet mangos from our own trees in July, savor the avocados and citrus during December/January...take a few back on the plane with you! The house is very comfortable, its bedrooms large and living spaces lend themselves to entertaining or sitting quietly alone. You will really appreciate the quiet and privacy..our cottage is not in a condo community.Property Amenities Our cottage has been completely rennovated within the past year.
