It is a crispy 60 degrees, sunny afternoon, and we just came in with 
fresh dinner treats.  Later we will light up a fire.  The smells of 
burning wood  and  roasted garlic will invite us to nestle in,  and 
look out the woods, where the clear spring floats our guest down to 
the headwaters of the Halls River.
Soon he will be back, after meandering thru a series of 3 pristine, 
tranquil lakes,  catching bass,  blue crabs and spooking schools of 
mullets.  He will be welcomed back  with a double-headed  steaming 
shower and a pile of hot white towels.
Today is a laid back day.
We  stepped  outside  in  the morning for a journey through a bird 
sanctuary, winding through miles of canoe trails. 
Perhaps tomorrow  you  will  join  us for a day out in the Gulf... 
maybe you'll fish off the little bridge, coming back to the Cottage 
for a refreshing drink in the late afternoon out on the sun deck. 
Later we'll all sit by the fireplace. 
You could also treat yourself to a casual but elegant dinner at the 
traditional Plantation Inn Golf & Country Club. 
Saturday  afternoon  we  could go out listen to some old  Rock and 
Roll, watch thousands of motorcycles  congregate  by  Harley’s, go 
see a kart race,  go to Orlando,  stop in  Mt. Dora  for antiques, 
or just go people-watching at the local flea market. 
Yes, our Zen Cottage is THE place we love to be, either for a quiet 
romantic interlude, or with those friends who love a splash or a fun 
boat ride. 
Our friends have helped us decorate,  rebuild,  cook and clean, and 
they play a mean game of dominoes!).

* So - our 4 weeks plus 1 day are almost done. The time passed in a 
flash. We were very pleased with the cottage - a cozy "cottage" 
decor, and clean. The stream outback and all it holds was very 
enjoyable, and a couple of excursions on the kayaks were well worth 
the efforts. 
We particularly enjoyed some time on the waterfront in Old Homosassa 
& dinner at Crumps, across the river. Cedar Key was worth the drive 
(funky little spot) + Crystal River were we saw manatees + dolphins. 
The area is well named - The Nature Coast.

   in many subtle ways: spa-like bathroom, fully rebuilt kitchen 
   mixed with some wall-paneling, fireplace, fleece throws, games,
