Citrus Springs is a small town located in Citrus County on the central west coast of Florida, about 70 miles north of Tampa. This area is a blend of old and new, set against a landscape of rolling hills, pristine lakes and rivers and moss-laden oaks, pines and palm trees. Bordered by water on three sides, Citrus County boasts 106 miles of spring-fed rivers, 19,111 acres of lakes, several crystal clear springs, and a 52-mile stretch of beautiful Gulf coastline. The numerous activities in the Citrus Springs area include fishing, boating, and kayaking, swimming, diving, snorkeling and golf. There are also many recreational areas that offer tennis, horseshoes and skateboarding. Citrus Springs is home to the nationally acclaimed El Diablo Golf and Country Club and the challenging Citrus Springs Golf and Country Club. In addition, the scenic Withlacoochee State Trail runs right through the town and is great for walking, jogging or biking, and the town boasts a new, two million dollar community center. Several museums and all the popular theme parks of Central Florida are within an easy drive of Citrus Springs.

Citrus Springs Weather & Climate

The Central West Coast just northwest of Tampa Bay, enjoys a semi tropical climate with warm Gulf breezes and plenty of sunshine - 361 days of sun per year. Although thunderstorms are frequent in summertime, they are short in duration and the sun quickly reappears behind the clouds. However, hot temperatures, along with the rain and the Gulf of Mexico help contribute to high humidity levels during this time, as well. June through September receives the most rain, with the rest of the year being pretty dry by comparison. Many believe the most pleasant weather is found during the winter months between November and March when the humidity becomes more bearable and winds from the Bay and Gulf help moderate the temperatures.
