Coral Springs
is located just northwest of Fort Lauderdale between West Palm Beach and Miami, and is part of the Fort Lauderdale metro area. Once mainly a retirement community, Coral Springs experienced tremendous growth in the past two decades, and has now become a highly desirable place for families and travelers. Coral Springs has much to offer – a charming city where the sun shines more than three-quarters of the year, upscale shopping and over 200 restaurants, offering some of the world’s best seafood. It’s also just a few miles from the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, and all the outdoor recreational opportunities that go along with it. The city is home to a 180-acre Sportsplex that is host to a major community festival, an aquatic complex, tennis courts, a golf driving range, ice arena and a wildlife hospital. Coral Springs is also known around the country for hosting the Honda Classic, a tournament on the PGA tour. The locals like to call Coral Springs, “the city in the country,” due to its abundant shopping malls, retail stores and close proximity to the excitement of the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area. Yet Coral Springs retains a small town feel, and its streets are safe and secure - more typical of a small, rural town than a community in the center of one of the country’s most popular vacation destinations.
Southeast Florida in the region between Miami and Palm Beach, is blessed with a semi-tropical climate, over 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and balmy ocean breezes year-round. The rainy season runs from May through October, with South Florida receiving 70 percent of its annual rainfall during these months. Florida, as a whole, has more thunderstorms than any other state, and their frequency usually peak in July or August. Humidity can become uncomfortable during these months, however storms pass quickly and sunshine returns. Late summer is the hurricane season, but ample warning time is given for these storms. Winters in southeast Florida can only be described as delightful - comfortable temperatures, low humidity, and lots of sunshine and tropical breezes.
