Fernandina Beach is a peaceful, secluded hideaway, located on Amelia Island along the Intracoastal Waterway in northeast Florida. This quiet, little town is relatively undiscovered, although it’s only a short 35 minute drive north of Jacksonville. Fernandina Beach has boutiques, art galleries, antique shops and a remarkable 50 block area with Victorian homes built in the late 1800s. Streets are lined with towering oaks draped in Spanish moss. Fernandina Beach Weather & Climate

Northeastern Florida, along the Atlantic coast near the Georgia border, enjoys a year round mild climate. Hot, humid summers and warm, mild winters attract lots of visitors to this area in all four seasons of the year. Florida, as a whole, has three basic climatic zones that are classified as "hot-humid." Northern Florida, in the Jacksonville-Amelia Island region is somewhat cooler than the southern part of the state due to its latitude, prevailing northeasterly winds and the cooling breezes from the Atlantic Ocean. It can rain anytime of the year in northeastern Florida, but the official "rainy" season runs from May through October, with September being the wettest month of the year. Winters are sunny and mild, with cool evenings.
