Southeast Florida, along the Atlantic Coast, enjoys balmy ocean breezes year-round. The rainy season runs from May through October, with South Florida receiving 70 percent of its annual rainfall during these months. Humidity can become uncomfortable during this time. Thunderstorms are frequent and usually peak in July or August, however these storms pass quickly and the sunshine quickly returns, so most outdoor plans are not ruined. Late summer is the hurricane season, but forecasters give ample warning time whenever one of these storms approach the mainland. Winters in southeast Florida are very comfortable, with lower humidity, lots of sunshine and mild evenings.
