Key West Vacation Rentals, Homes, Condos, Villas and Beach Rentals
Key West
is 150 miles from Miami and 90 miles from Havana, making it the southernmost city in the continental U.S. This tropical island city has always maintained a strong sense of independence and is undoubtedly one of the most unique places you will ever visit. It sits like a jewel in the middle of the sea, with an average temperature of 77 degrees that rarely varies 10 degrees in either direction. It has been nicknamed “The Conch Republic,” and “Margaritaville,” which is decidedly a state of mind as well as a daily ritual in this famed city. The heart of Key West is “Old Town,” the historic area where a large number of fine old structures and homes have been restored to their original grandeur. Key West has gorgeous sandy beaches, art galleries, boutiques, curiosity shops and a laid-back, friendly lifestyle. During the daytime, the streets are filled with musicians, street artists, jugglers and mimes. At night the city’s open-air bars, legendary pubs and famous restaurants come alive, where an off-beat sort of celebration seems to take place every night of the year. There is a full calendar of festivals, cultural and artistic events throughout the year, including a Halloween Fantasy Fest. The waters surrounding Key West are unbeatable for swimming, fishing, diving and snorkeling. Other attractions include the Key West Aquarium and the Ghosts & Legends of Key West Tour. But, as with all of the Florida Keys, the shimmering sunsets are the main attraction, where each evening at twilight they are celebrated and sometimes even applauded at Mallory Square.
